Did you notice the 8 in 8000 is upside down.  Who designed that font?

Funny too, I closed my account with them 2 months ago and went to a local community bank.  LOL.  Surfing the financial apocalypse if fun!

It has to be a bitch if you’re in the middle of buying gas at the station, or just picking up some milk and bread at the local Walmart, and your card isn’t accepted.

I think these things are really just trial runs for when they really do have to shut down their servers and keep their customers’ money.    Any excuse will do.  And in today’s computer age it’s normal to blame a nameless computer someplace.

Only last month in Europe there were numerous IT “glitches” starting at NatWest in Great Britain, then spreading to big banks in Russia, Germany, and France.   Was very weird how it was not reported by MSM here in the U.S.  Now 8000 ATM’s here go down.  Make you go, hmmm!

@silverhawk – I never noticed that about the font before.  The forums use Arial and I was curious about you question on who designed it, so I did some research and found the answer in the net’s only non-refutable encyclopedia (Wikipedia) and found this: “The typeface was designed in 1982 by a 10-person team, led by Robin Nicholas and Patricia Saunders.”  Who knew?

Actually, I started doing a CTRL +, and after it started getting bigger, the 8 looked normal.  It comes up looking upsidedown when using Firefox regular settings, and this ancient laptop.  My favorite font, too.  Thanks for the research, might be able to use it on Jeopardy or WWTBAM someday?!

This page has disappeared.   Why do you suppose it was taken down?

They took it down cause if you put in the search engine “8000 us bank atm down” the #2 result is from SilverDoctors.  Wow.  Didn’t know we ranked that high.  Good for us.  ABC news.  Joke.  Must not have gotten prior permission to print the story from TPTB.

PS.  I though of a new jungle for FOX news.  We Report.  You Laugh Inside.

" The error I see stackers making is the value of their stash in fiat. Fiat that is rapidly losing any purchasing power and is losing its usefulness. Price your stack in real world goods to see how you are doing. $4 silver years ago bought 8-16 gallons of gas, $21 silver still buys 8 gallons of gas...
