Tried searching a topic on this, but failed.

Last Friday I ordered a bunch of these, along with Antelopes, Maples, etc.

I paid €39.53 each for the Polar Bears at the cheapest (web)shop in Europe that I’m aware of. They’re out of stock, will supply me in January. With the silver price nearly flat, they now cost €42 each. A good 5% premium hike. When I bought them, the Polar Bears were about €0,60/oz more expensive than Maples bought per tube. Cheaper/oz than Antelopes by €0.26. Now at €42/ea they are

What are your forecasts for the going rate of the Polar Bears? Any idea how rare they’ll be allowed to get?
I have a few Cougars, bought in May (€0,41 more than they cheaper .999 silver in Europe), and they’re slowly creeping to €1-2 premium now. I hope to some day trade these pretty coins for a silver gain in generic ones such as Philharmonics and Maples. Since I’m all in with a tiny amount of saving, I am forced to at least try and play it smart…

I wish the Polar Bears would be like 55mm and skinny, but suppose making them 38mm and think makes them cheaper to mint, by a nice margin.

    Thanks for any thoughts!

What’s the going rate in the America’s on these?

I am seeing crazy prices on eBay…

Seems me and another stacker might help each other out if I were to ship some back. Need some cash for a silver-related deal.

Anyone have experience with silver parcels from Europe, in terms of taxes etc? Since they were Canadian-made, that might not be too bad?

    Thanks!

Here in Alberta – 64-67 Cnd$ so about 47 euro?

Sorry – was hoping I could help you find cheaper ones as I’m in same boat (with same plan) but no such luck : (

With the prices I found here – you’re better off buying at home.

I’ve been watching eBay for few weeks now – trying to find deal on any fine .999 silver – just not happening!  Saw website the other day that put average ebay selling price into chart – converted to premiums over spot – astronomical %!  People are worried and I don’t know if they just want ‘something’ in their hand so don’t care what they pay for it, or just don’t know their prices and ‘think’ they’re getting a deal, but right now it’s cheaper to buy from coin shops/bullion dealers then ebay – even for ‘junk’ silver!

I stocked up on Polars today. Supply seems low here in Europe (few shops selling), however prices are comparable to Antelopes, ounce for ounce.

I’ve got some that I might be convinced to part with, if the price is right.

Anyone know whether other 1.5oz coins like these are planned? Quite an odd offering, a wilf life animal, but not part of the series. Lower mintage perhaps, but god volume and low cost due to thickness?

It’s odd because I tried to look them up on Mint site and if you search Polar or Bear or 1.5 – they don’t show.  Not sure what’s up with that as even when ‘Sold out’ they still put up photo, write-up, original price etc – just Sold Out shows where you’d enter quantity to order.  As they are so new – you think they’d be there….? Or am I just blind…?

No idea if more planned, but if they were a test product and they sold out this fast it would be smart biz to mint more/make series.

They are not sold through the mint, only through dealers. Just the same as the regular Maple Leafs…they are only sold through a dealer. That is why you couldn’t find a listing of them at the mint.

    Cheers
