While the financial MSM is already calling the DOS hacking a terrorist cyber attack by the Al-Qassam Cyber Fighters, isn’t a more rational explanation Chase hacking Chase to rehypothecate funds from their own clients?

Yes. Turdville is down too – but Turd has posted over at his old blogspot site that the outage is due to some patch his hosting provider applied improperly (they’re working on it). So at least it does not appear to be hack of Turd’s stuff.
JPM runs the SNAP and EBT systems. there have been short 10 hour shutdowns localized in one city or county. The recipients of these welfare cards got quite restive in those few short hours. I have 2 Chase cards—unforgivable—-but they give me lots of frequent flyer miles. The site is still down 3.30 PST Unexpected loss of service. the rep said it should be back up in a couple of hours but did not elaborate on why the site was down except to say it was not planned.

This is why I have accounts at a few different banks. Use a credit union as much as possible, then a small amount in a large bank like Chase just for ATM availability when you travel.

To be honest, taking down a website is pretty easy as long as you have the program (HOIC or LOIC for example. HOIC is more preferable), a lot of people with the same program (It depends on the website’s capacity. For example, it took 40 people to take down the Polish government’s website.) and if you are capable of changing your IP address.
