Judge Mark Schrager has granted Kitco Metals a 4th bankruptcy extension until June 26th, 2013. Kitco’s 3rd extension expired 10/17/12, meaning Kitco faced liquidation had the judge failed to again extend the proceedings. The judge also authorized Kitco to solicit financing, and pay several large invoices to Attitude Montreal, Inc.
Judge Schrager’s full ruling can be found at the link below:

Yikes, I actually own some Kitco bullion. I think I may need to offload those, lol.
Knowing kitco they may have sold it.
I’ve taken delivery of the metal. What I mean is that I may need to sell, cause if they go bankrupt, I would probably have to sell off my Kitco stamped bars at a discount.
BTW, why the negative connotations associated w Kitco, what have they done wrong?
John Nadler and Kitco unallocated accounts are what they have done wrong, as well as having site moderators that are more censorous than a university professor
They buy back at a good price their own stuff, silver eagles, and the like, but their assay and melt prices seem high. If they go bankrupt their bars may become collectable and will sell on ebay. You can get spot for Elvis bars on ebay.
Kitco is a bad company for those who are less than 18 years old because young people can’t buy from them. I wasted all my time over there when they asked me to create an account with them.
Nobody should use Kitco for anything or listen to Jon Nadler either. Today’s gem,
“Mr. Zimmerman added that “the $1,796 [figure] was our ideal resistance [level]. From here we target a drop to $1,550 minimum, with $1400 the next step down from there.” Those are number that were last mentioned only during the summer doldrums (near $1,525) and that were subsequently relegated to the realm of “never again” prior to and shortly after QE3 appeared on the market scene. Hmmm…”
Until next time,
Jon Nadler
Hey there. New here, but a frequent reader.
And thinking out loud, if Kitco is in this shape, I wonder what they got paid to scrub the silver chart last week.
Moneymaker perhaps?
Their ap is okay for general state of things but I go to netdania for up to the minute prices.
I don’t look at charts. The current spot price is the only thing that matters.
“The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness.” – Abraham Maslow
Kitco works for the anti-gold cartel, the banksters … Nadler is the cartel lap doggy … been barking since start of the bull market …
Nadler / Cramer/ Kudlow/ Ned Schmidt/ Clive Maund / … many prostitutes out there
Doc….There may be a potential opening here for you. The most popular part of the Kitco web site is their PM spot price screen. You even link to it on the SD web site. If Kitco goes away you could grab that market. You even have a Forum topic seeking input on what people want in the way of a quote screen. Develop the best PM quote screen and allow others to link to it and SD becomes the global go to silver web site. Just a thought.
Kitco has sold so much metal (that belongs to other people) to so many OTHER people that its not even funny. Anyone letting them hold their metal or in a “pool” account or some other nonsense deserves to be neutered.
Not that I disagree. But do u have any evidence of this?
I hope they will keep their current metal spot pricing pages up, that is what I use them for the most besides their silver calculator. Sometimes the commentaries are good if it wasn’t for that annoying Jon Nadler.
Employees at Kitco knock their own product in the public media! Wonder why they are having troubles. LOL
I’ve been skulking awhile, and this particular article has brought me in out of the cold. I assume someone here is familiar with the back story to this and could organize the details better than my initial Googles would, also I’m guessing others here would be interested, as well. Anybody got some dirt?
My user name is a second application of what was initially a cover name, “Precious Metals,” to get e-mail updates from another site. It ended up both warming my heart and cracking me up to have my old biddy self referred to as “Dear Precious.”
Is Kitco on the verge of being bankrupt? I didn’t know that. I hate their services when I went to their physical shop because they first told me that I needed to fill up a formula to create an account with them and then they said I needed to be older. I wasted all my time over there for nothing!
