National Guard Whistleblower: “Doomsday Preppers Will Be Treated As Terrorists”

A National Guard whistleblower has reported that National Guardsman have been briefed by superiors on plans to confiscate guns and target doomsday preppers as domestic terrorists in the event of riots erupting in the wake of the upcoming elections.

“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…”

So begins the Oath of Enlistment for the U.S. military, but in an explosive interview with a National Guard whistleblower shown below, soldiers are now being advised they will be ordered to break that oath should civil unrest erupt across the country.

Referred to only as “Soldier X” under promise of anonymity, an Army National Guardsman spoke via phone with Infowars Nightly News Producer Rob Dew regarding a recent briefing his unit underwent on actions the military would take in the event that an Obama election loss sparked rioting in America’s streets.

Citing not only recent widespread threats to riot if Mitt Romney were to become the next U.S. president, but threats to actually assassinate him should he win, Soldier X’s superiors dispensed plans of how the National Guard would be responsible for “taking over” and quelling such unrest.

The soldiers were reportedly told“Doomsday preppers will be treated as terrorists.”

In addition, guns will be confiscated.

“They have a list compiled of all these doomsday preppers that have gone public and they plan to go after them first,” Soldier X said. He claimed those in charge are acting under the belief that preppers will be “the worst part” of any potential civil unrest.

Soldier X was also told that any soldiers in the ranks who are known as preppers will be deemed “defects.” He explained the label meant these soldiers would be treated as traitors. “If you don’t conform, they will get rid of you,” he added.

  1. This is just one more in a long litany of the freedom crushing evolutions of our government.

    • Surely the most effective preppers have long ago mastered the art of looking… unprepared?

It just makes sense to me.

      *cough*

    • Please forgive my frankness, but I live in the UK where guns are not much a part of our lives. Even regular police officers don’t carry them. I hope my thoughts will be received in good spirits.

Maybe I’m just being daft, but that profile picture of AGXIIK just looks plain scary.    If this is how ‘preppers’ are supposed to look, then I am not in the least surprised that the National Guard would perceive them to be a threat.

I consider myself to be more prepared than the average citizen. I pay attention to current affairs and I invest in precious metals. I have a bugout plan, basic survival skills and a stash of food. But I do not feel the need to dress and behave like a badass.    If I did, I would probably scare my neighbours out of their wits and I wouldn’t blame them for calling the police.

I believe the essence of ‘preparedness’ should be to maintain a calm, peaceful, alert demeanour. To co-operate with neighbours and authority whilst quietly being ready for anything. If I was hoarding weaponry, PMs and food at my home address, I certainly wouldn’t advertise it by dressing like Rambo or a member of the Irish Republican Army.

Am I alone in having these thoughts?

    • @Tawnyard So what if AG dresses like that… God commands us to always be armed and ready for war. To assume that AG is not maintaining “a calm, peaceful, alert demeanour”, just because of the way he dresses, is an erroneous assumption at best. I am also sure that AG don’t dress like that at every occasion. Anyhow, which part of being dressed in civilian garb will give anyone the idea that you’ve got an “alert demeanour” for one?

In addition to the above, so what if the Bobbies are not armed, does this mean the rest of the people in the UK should be sitting ducks? In 2010, following the serious injury of an unarmed officer in a knife attack, the chairman of the Police Memorial Trust, Michael Winner stated that he had put up memorials to 44 officers and that he believed, “It is almost certain that at least 38 of those [Police Officers] would be alive had they been armed”.

      Just my two cents.

@AG I love that pic. It shows that you’re prepared to kick as if needed and that you’re not afraid to dress the part. If that makes you a terrorist, then I am one too. Hell, I don’t feel threatened by it too the least bit, because I know it is the man in the uniform and his peace maker that counts.

    • @ silverbullion Um… I got as far as “God commands us to always be armed and ready for war.” and I wanted to stop reading. But I persevered right to the end when you refer to a gun as a ‘peace maker’.

Did you know that just over 1,600 British police officers have been killed in criminal acts since 1680?  Yep, the year sixteen eighty. That’s over 330 years. If you contrast that with the number of killings of officers per capita in the USA, you’ll see that we have a much better record. Hell, in 1973 alone, 156 US law enforcement officers were shot dead.

Which part of being dressed in military style garb and toting guns will give anyone the idea you’ve got peaceful intentions?

We’re not ’sitting ducks’ here in the UK. Whatever gave you that idea?    I have lived in a big city and in the British countryside. I can walk at night through any UK city, town, village or farm and feel confident that nobody is looking at me down the barrel of a gun. Here in rural Britain, we don’t point guns at trespassers, we simply ask them if they are lost and offer them a nice cup of tea.

Maybe the whole ‘prepping’ lifestyle attracts the sort of people who like dress like soldiers and run around with guns? I don’t know.  I just know that if my neighbour looked like AGXIIK, I’d be thinking about moving somewhere else. (No offence, AGXIIK, I’ve read your posts. I respect your PMs knowledge and I can see you’re not bonkers. You just look scary.)

  2. C’mon man….”Source X”  by phone with InfoWar news?  Yeah, ok.

  3. I am not surprised by this to the least bit. The Satanic world government will label anyone who wishes to exercise his/her God given rights as a terrorist.

  4. This is BS by those HOPING (they are by no means sure of things) to get the USA destroyed so that the NWO (ie. JWO) can be achieved. THIS IS BS.

    • @Chief Right on.

    • WB was right in some respects, for heavens sake. The bullion banks had to stop the price of gold at 1810.00 to avert a commercial signal failure and a massive rise in the price of gold. Sounds like he was close to predicting this…just one problem…

       http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/KWN_DailyWeb/Entries/2012/10/16_London_Trader_-_Bullion_Banks_Had_To_Halt_Golds_Advance.html

    • JWO? If by that you mean JEW World Order, I believe you are mistaken. And here is how:

The Rothschilds are jewish, we all know this. But I guarantee you, if it served their purposes at all, those dirty bastards would sell out Israel in a New York Minute! They are currently seeming to go that route right now. But such moves are not totally apparent 100% of the time. They “happen to be” jewish, but entirely self serving. Hitler wanted to kill them (likely) but mistakenly just got the wrong people. I doubt he ever got close to a rothschild a single time… Nazis did get some of their art when they invaded Paris, however.

1 bad family (rothschild) does not extend to an entire nation. I have read about 6 families. Same thing. Most Israelis just want to be left alone, like most of us.

    • Why would someone be hoping for the New World Order to arrive? When the NWO arrive, it will be a complete world where you can’t run away from tyranny. Also if the USA is destroyed, there will be anarchy and you won’t be able to get your foods and water very easily.

  5. What about the latest BS prediction of the fake loser Wynter Benton, that silver would do something big between 16 and 24 October???? It actually went down from 35 to 32!!! No comment as yet from the Doc, who seems to believe in this guy. Maybe the BS from Wynter Benton can finally be ignored and not further propogated via silverdoctors.

    • Reposting and referencing another source does not mean one believes there is truth to what that content claims.  Doc was clear that it was an informational post, knowing that many readers here followed the strange series of WB posts.

I’ve followed these WB posts, but I don’t really care about them.  They don’t impact my actions in the slightest.

    • Very True, @saddle

I say keep the info flowing, let us make up our own minds!

    • That’s why I don’t trust people they tell their predictions. The only prediction that I know and that was successful is when AGXIIK predicted that silver’s price would go up very fast on August 2012. His prediction was on the verge to fail since the rise of silver’s price happened at the end of August 2012.

  6. Chief………..unfortunately the BS postings are what drives a lot of these boards.  I was at another PM board recently where much of the topic of conversation was the US gov’t purposely steering this Hurricane over someone’s house.

  7. yes, I tend to agree, the wynter benton story was hocus.

  8. With all the information out there, I beleive all this shit that is happening. Obama won’t leave quietly if he loses office, hence all his Presidential Orders more than any other President before him.. The Elite have an agenda and they will do anything for their One World Order.
The shit is coming down the Pike. Keep Stacking.

    • @Marchas45 Right on Charlie and hopefully their efforts will fail on the same grande scale as in 70 A.D.

    • Of course there will be a gun confiscation act since it was thanks to this tool that many revolutions were won. The government is scared about a revolution so it will pass laws to take away guns from people. I strongly recommend everyone to keep their guns even if the ownership of it become illegal.

  9. Do not ask yourself why this is happening, but ask yourself (HOW) this is happening?  You are getting stripped of your Constitutional & Amendment Rights, meticulously, one by one. So no one notices or cares. Until the mass of people finally realizes they are being down played by the UN for a bigger objective. Stay tuned…

    • I don’t have any rights from the Constitution and the Amendments in the USA because I’m not an American! :P
Although, I have to agree that my rights here in Canada are getting stripped away even if the Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees them.

  10. Doen’t surprise me one bit. It will give Obama the perfect opportunity to shut our entire
financial system down so that the Fed can raid the IRA’s and 401K accounts to help pay
down the National debt. If it doesn’t appen now, it will happen after the hurricane.

    WATCH OUT!

  11. It sounds as if they are going to crash the economy before the elections?

  12. Mars, election or not – the economy is headed for a crash.
The issue is that we all need to be prepared for this, and the aftermath.

As far as the timing of the crash goes, who knows?

  13. Great posts here!  There is a spiritual saying that ”People get the leaders they deserve”.  I am inundated with sheeple that have no other comment to make why they voted, and will vote for Obama, other than that he is “tall”, “handsome”, “has a nice smile”, is “black”.  When asked is that it, is that the end of the reason(s) you are voting for him?  There usually is a blank stare, like “yeah”.

Those are sorry folks, and there are MILLIONS of them…maybe as many as 47 MILLION (familiar number, huh).  Well, hopefully for us,  a good number of them will be too wrapped up in themselves to vote this time.  Maybe, just maybe, it will be enough for us to prevail.

  14. God forbid anyone could possibly attempt to make themselves immune from groveling government dependence. Really! THAT sort of trend could get completely out of control. Pretty soon everyone would refuse to let ‘official’ demented goons grope them!

The signs of frantic desperation are appearing almost daily now, compared to the bi-weekly, weekly and monthly frequency of the past couple years.

Watch out, well here it comes … Helter-Skelter

    • @Patfields Exactly. People look at me like I am crazy when I tell them the ultimate goal is to get us all dependent on government.

    • I do use some of the government’s benefits but I can still live without them. With these benefits, it allows me to stack more physical gold and silver very fast and easily especially when I have a job, don’t pay income taxes and sell some stuffs. :)

  15. As for this “preppers are terrorists”.  The very first instance of any type of violence/restriction of freedom against a prepper, those responsible need to be ELIMINATED!  As for confiscating guns, well, it will be costly, won’t it, because attempting to take one’s arms will result in heavy casualties.

  16. For purposes of testing some of the theories present in this post, let’s see how the situation with hurricane Sandy plays out.  On another channel I read that many grocery stores in Mass. are nearly stripped of supplies like water, meds, batteries, flashlight and easy to use foods.   This was reported on Sunday AM EST and the storm is slated to hit the immediate areas on Tuesday.   My concern is that once again there will a large number of people who fail to prepare for this Century Storm. Good friends of ours ended up burning furniture to keep their Conn. home warm during Hurricane Irene. The additional aspect of election night one week later combined with lack of transportation, low gas stocks, flooding and the shut down of public service has the potential of making a hash of election night.  While Romney can only talk about this, Obama can act in coordination with FEMA, the National Guard and local LEO to help mitigate the worst of what could happen.  We will see how the president reacts to these events when they could affect the voters abilities to get to their polling places.  Talk about the Perfect Storm.
Maybe some of the readers can report back on their findings and bear witness to the events.  There is a forum at the side to comment on that subject

    • As far as HAARP goes, why would Obama bring a hurricane into his stronghold of support, and risk losing votes?
The only non-dark blue state is New Hampshire, Live Free or Die! I’m of the same mind, AGXIIK, let’s see how this plays out.
We have more info on the Russian version of HAARP than our own, and the expert on said Russian weapons says they are more advanced than HAARP. Retired Lt. Colonel Tom Bearden. Look up Scalar Wars… very interesting stuff!

BESIDES, Unless they shut them all down, the Weather Rangers can push that hurricane out to sea! I read about them guys also.
Apparently they build this small, cheap, relatively simple electromagnetic pulse motor that creates a magnetic repulsion field that affects the weather. Based on the Joseph Newman motor/generator. One of those “free energy” devices LOL

    • We see this BS every time there is a natural disaster.  1st comes the warning and then all of the sheeple run out and empty the shelves at the local stores.  WTF?  Don’t these idiots maintain a supply of food and water, just in case?  Oh, hell, no!  That would require some rational thought on their parts.  Terminal eye roll…

  17. 1 major problem with the premise of this, in print:

...regarding a recent briefing his unit underwent on actions the military would take in the event that an Obama election loss sparked rioting in America’s streets…

    and:

The soldiers were reportedly told“Doomsday preppers will be treated as terrorists.”

    1. Preppers will not riot for Obama if he loses, or rioting in the streets if he wins. (I do not believe)
    2. National Guard will be busy with the riots, as opposed to finding preppers.

I would think using this as a diversion could happen.

I think that the October Surprise already happened, and backfired so badly, there will not be another.
    RE: Benghazi

    • But be ready for ANYTHING!

    • No, the October surprise is Frankenstorm Hurricane Sandy, our man made event planned by the scum and carried out by their treasonous agents in Haarp.

    • Tell me more of this HAARP

    • At last!  Someone else who understands logic.  Preppers will be the very LAST to riot, if they EVER do.  Preppers have no reason to riot.  They do have every reason to keep low, quiet, and not bring attention to themselves.  IMHO, the ONLY reason why the gov or the military would have for keeping track of preppers would be so that after the SHTF, they can go there and steal all of their preps.  Gotta redistribute all this hoarded material so that everyone starves slowly instead of just those who never lifted a finger to prevent their starvation starving quickly.  :-(

    • @Ed_B:

      ;)

    • Why would people be rioting when the president Barack Obama would lose the election? He was a bad president since he didn’t fix a lot of important things in the USA such as inflation and he also passed the NDAA which is against the Constitution.

  18. a) Nobody cares enough to riot no matter which bozo gets elected. b) Alex Jones channel is just for entertainment. c) Everyone here knows somebody’s motherless son in the military- ask them. d) America is far too Large for anyone to control. e) “If you Live by the Sword, You shall die by the Sword. f) or rather A…roman numeral I: Keep stacking and trust in the Almighty. ;)

  19. With all due respect to those needy people who rely on SNAP and EBT cards, their number is 47,000,000.  I guess I’m long past criticizing those who might be perfectly able to fend for themselves, prefering to rely on the largess of our government.  Perhaps at some time in the past they were able to manage without help from the government but for reasons known only to them, they decided to receipt those benefits.  Needy is needy.
I do have some real concerns for them being as they are on the lowest rung of subsidence level living.  Storms, natural disasters, Greek-like austerity and other events leave these folks hurting for real, no matter why they receive government welfare.  When you read the stories of how the Greeks and Spainards,  even those who formerly occupied the middle and upper middle class, are being crushed by a negative 10-15% GDP and 25% unemployment rates,  my concern is not so much about who gets elected but those who are affected by the  storms we see on the horizon.  Sandy is the least of them IMO

    • “ I guess I’m long past criticizing those who might be perfectly able to fend for themselves, prefering to rely on the largess of our government.”

Just wait until the SHTF and the government is fresh out of all that largess.  THAT is when the rioting will begin.

  20. Preppers are localized caches of weapons and food that could be used to destabilize the commie in chief. I can see them going after groups.

  21. One comment on the National Guard somehow being ready to take on we the people.  I was talking to a few of my BOB  On the subject of the UN, National Guard, TSA or other paramilitary that might get it in their minds that we would acquiesce to any of these groups my  Senior commented that if you take the three largest hunting oriented states, there are about 1,500,000 hunters in those states.
Most of these people are military or former military, serving in wars from Vietnam, Gulf War I and I, Iraq and Afghanistan.  Many were members of the special forces.  Some still serve in the reserves and others are former or present Natl Guard.   This number of hunters is telling.
At this number They represent one of the top 5 largest armies in the world, easily equal to the total number of military in the US.   Since many of the National Guard are members of our communities they are very unlikely to take action against peaceful US citizens. These people are known.  We know where they live, shop, work and where theire families congregate.  That means something and they know it.
On the other hand, should a few misguided loyalists who think their first order of business is to turn their guns on American Citizens, violating their oath to uphold the Constitution (and I have taken that oath as well) they would find that in very short order, maybe after a few attacks by these goon squads, the extremely well armed people of this country would immediately react with great force and strength to counter this invasion of their Constitutional rights.

    • One can only hope that reason would prevail over government hysteria and no Americans will turn on their fellow citizens.  That would be the time for cooler heads to prevail.  The US Military would be VERY unlikely to turn their guns on peaceful Americans… rioters, looters, and other miscreants, yes but not the peaceful among us.  That said, it is not only the right of Americans to reject tyranny, it is a sacred obligation.

As far as numbers go, yeah, we’ve got ‘em.  Organization, however, is on the side of any military group.  The Romans proved 2,000 years ago that a small but very well trained, well armed, and organized group of men can defeat much larger numbers of men if they are not as well trained, armed, or organized.  It would be awful for everyone if it came down to this.

    • I am wondering if all of them are going to help us when the governments are going to go against its people. Also, there are a lot of propaganda that are brainwashing the future generations telling that guns are bad and they should be illegal to own.

  22. One thing is certain, the PTB live in fear of regular people.  The only reason for this is something they know, or something they are doing, that we don’t know about. They act guilty, like an egg sucking dog slinking by.  If they would use their power in the best interests of the people, they would have absolutely nothing to fear from any of us. So why the worries?
    mm hmm.

    • IMO, these folks could be SO RICH by just doing things the right way, and admired too!
I know the commies like Marx and Stalin hated success, but those old ideas are so outmoded and proven wrong, this country is going the “crony capitalist” route, and China is too, but from the opposite end of the spectrum. Still WRONG and STUPID, but it has a better chance at “working” for the elites than commie-nism ever did. It will fail, but it seems to work a slight bit better.

  23. Frankly anyone who would vote in this election for the communist is just to dangerous to have in ones life! That simple truth may make some angry but if it does it means your life is a lie!

  24. @Tawnyard I dare say that had our dear cousin Brits never succumbed to the selfish, paranoid fears of the Nobility (so grateful our forefathers rid us of THEM) and held fast in preserving their … natural private right of CHOICE to be armed, antecedent to government’s very institution … the ‘Troubles’ might either never have come about, or have become so enduring and widespread. It has been repeatedly demonstrated that where little or no interference with that right is exercised, crime and aggressive confrontation in such communities is rare indeed.

We have a saying in our neighborhoods regarding mortal dangers … ‘when seconds count, depend upon police to be minutes away’.

    • @PatFields I believe that Northern Ireland (the location of the ‘Troubles’) is the only place in the UK where the police (RUC) do routinely carry guns. I have lived in the Republic of Ireland and I can honesty say that our dear cousins the Irish people loathe guns just as much as we Brits. And they loathe the Irish Republican Army too. If there was no long-dead cause for the wannabe ‘badass’ trouble-makers to dress up and fight over, they’d all be doomsday preppers instead. I’m certain it.

Mortal dangers here in the UK are few and far between. A far greater risk is drowning in a slurry pit or getting crushed by a forklift.  Falling asleep at the wheel – now that’s a good one. Playing on railway lines.  Overdoing it on a Saturday night and choking on one’s own vomit.  All these things pose more serious risk than potential evil doers. And in all of these cases, a gun will not help you.

Didn’t you know that an Englishman’s home is his castle? We’re all nobility.  I put it to you that any ‘selfish, paranoid fears’ belong firmly in the nation of gun lovers. ; )

For any other points you raise, I refer you to my answer beneath my original post.

  25. Tawnyard   My avatar was done earlier this year when  I took delivery of a large load of silver and decided to armor up in my personal gear to have a picture taken guarding the silver. It was pretty much tongue in cheek.
I sent it to Doc as he was the conduit to making it possible to mint some Sunshine rounds for my stack.   After all said and done, Doc and I decided to use this avatar on SD since it was the only picture of me he had.  You’ll not see me dressed up like this unless the situation becomes extreme.  In that case, yes, this is how I would take on that challenge, as would some of my friends.
But normally I am about as mild-mannered a person as you would meet. My posting belicosity is a good place to vent though since much of what we read is enough to raise one’s ire. It allows me to get some things off my chest that need to be said.Originally raised in Canada and brought up in much of the English traditions, I have great respect for the British.  They have always been well prepared and willing to fight for what is right.
Most of my family fought in WWI and WWII in the fields and air of Europe and Germany, waging wars not of their chosing against the Jerries.   Some did not make it back.  As a result  I take the freedoms of our countries, the US, Canada and Great Britain seriously and am willing to protect it from all enemies foreign or domestic, as I’m sure you and your forefathers did for many centuries past.  The Constitution and the Magna Carta (two of my two favorite documents)are worth fighting for.
PS I think the Bobbies in England are reflective of the nature of the English people, willing to resolve the normal course of differences as any civilized people would, hence their willingness to eschew guns as a means of law enforcement. Those billy clubs commonly carried seem to do the job.

    • Aye, AGXIIK. Aye indeed. I agree with all you say. And I realise that your picture was meant to be tongue in cheek. However, it struck me as funny, in light of the subject matter. The indignation that preppers feel at the way they are being perceived.

I took delivery of a large consignment of PMs once. My postie – poor bastard – asked for help. He’d never handled such a dense box. In stark contrast to you, I can honestly say I was quite unprepared! For one thing, I was in my dressing gown. And I wasn’t wearing anything underneath. I wish I’d thought to put on a bra before answering the door.  : (

Tell you what, I’ll upload an avatar.    Maybe we can all have a think about the image we present to the world?

    • @Tawnyard

My avatar presents an image of freedom. Freedom that was gained 100s of years ago from people that didn’t want a totalitarian government controlling there life. That Government was Great Britain armed with firearms in-slaving us for there king! The people that stood up to the greatest power of the time were just like AG. We didn’t want to fight but were backed into a corner and picked up arms and as such have never put them down.

Tawnyard I have to laffe those arms we never put down sure got Great Britain out of that little bloody pickle during WW1 & WWII. So as you walk around safely, know this it’s the protection of the US and all there firearms that have kept you safe all these years

  26. Tawnyard  Now that is funny!  I can picture the postman with a look of surprise handling the monster box at your doorstep.  An Avatar?  If you remember the great series I Love Lucy, Lucy always seemed to end up in a state of deshabille when someone unexpectedly showed up at her door.  Curlers, nightgown and hair in disarray, she was a great physical comic.  The guest at the door was usually a door to door salesman or Fred and Ethel, the Ricardo’s neighbors.  Being shown in a nightgown on the TV in the ’50 was pretty risque so those scenes were good for a large dose of the laugh track.  Now we  have Snooki in various states of undress.  The poor schlub at the door was usually invited in for a quick toss and sent packing. Nothing left to the imagination.  But I digress
One funny side note. When I was a child growing up in Victoria BC my dad was a very Gin and Tonic, stiff upper lip sort. Some of his older friends would discuss the unpleasantness between George III and George W. They would look down their nose and in the best plummmy English accent refer to the USA as ‘those Colonials’
At that time my knowledge of US geography was so limited I thought that America consisted of the 13 colonies, cowboys and indians. Dad’s friends were so old I thought they actually fought in the Revolutionary war. Maybe they did. For an 8 year old, they were ancients

  27. @AGXIIK  I’m laughing now. Really! Those are lovely anecdotes. Thank you. You’re not a bit like your avatar. And I didn’t realise you were Canadian. Such a superb, civilised nation with wonderful traditions! (Even though my local pub is older. Ahem.) I’m exactly like my avatar, in case anybody is wondering. Those are gaitors. Civilian issue, ideal for navigating the Welsh bogs. At the weekend, I usually exchange steel-toecap boots for hiking boots and head for the mountains. I’m more prepped for adverse weather than riots, I’m afraid.

  28. @Patfields I do respect your opinion, but I would like to refer to the following articles in defence of my opinion:

    http://soundmoneysa.co.za/2012/08/firearms-in-south-africa/

    http://soundmoneysa.co.za/2012/09/more-statistics-on-gun-control/

In addition, I am a descendent of assassinated Boer General Manie Maritz, and I know for one that if my people, including ZAR Police officers, were not armed before, during and after the Boer War, the ‘peaceful’ Great Britain would have completely wiped us off the face of the earth a long time ago. Furthermore, in order to compare apples with apples, I think it would be wise to invite the Bobbies to come and do Police work unarmed here in South Africa… we can start with Soshanguve Block KK for dessert before we move over to the main course.

I would also like to make it clear that the term “Boer” (more correctly spelled “Bur”) in the sense that I am using it, doesn’t refer to a “farmer” or “Afrikaner”. I am in reference to my German forebears who started the Boer Republics that was acknowledge by Her Majesty the Queen. This was before the senseless Boer War started after the discovery of gold in Transvaal, not even to mentioned the murder of innocent Boer women and children in those God-forsaken concentration camps, which percentage wise made the so called “Holocaust” look like a walk in the park. In fact, let’s never forget the likes of Cecil John Rhodes and Barney Barnato, those who pretended at best to be English gentlemen, who instigated the whole Boer War affair and genocide against my people.

Furthermore, don’t be fooled by cheap propaganda and lies that the Dutch was the dominating European group to arrive in the Cape or that Blacks were chased off their lands to make room for my forebears. The truth is that the bulk of the Europeans that landed at the Cape were of German descent (check the shipping records if you can find any) and that the bulk of the Black people migrated from the North at a later stage. My forebears did make use of Black labor that came from the North and did purchase land from Blacks in certain areas, but we for one refused the system of slavery (the pre-runner of Apartheid) that the Dutch and English implemented. This is one of the reasons why my forebears left the Cape and started the Boer Republics. Don’t be fooled by those of European descent who refer to themselves as “Afrikaners”, which is in reference to the German “Afrikander”, which is used in German to solely refer to Black people or the Blacks. Yes, you have White Europeans calling themselves Blacks, although they believe Afrikaners refer to Whites only. In fact, the bulk of my people suffer from an identity crisis today and horrendously refer to themselves as Afrikaners. My people believe in racial purity, but this doesn’t mean that we hate other races created by God. The true racists are those who hate the races created by God. Needless to say, we will never make peace with those who have seen first light by ignoring God’s command of “seed after its own kind” and who continue to promote policies of racial genocide, which will destroy both the White and Black races originally created by God, if left unchecked. So yes, our enemies would love to see us completely unarmed…

Anyhow, let’s allow history to be the final judge in these matters.

    • @Silverbullion Read carefully and noted. Sincerely, Tawnyard.

    • @Tawnyard I am glad. :-)

I must stress that my people, a peace loving people, never hated the British (or English) because the British are British, but we rather hated the genocidal policies introduced under British rule (which were mainly driven by foreign elements pretending to be British/English gentlemen). I’ve seen the propaganda and lies fed to the British/English before, during and after the Boer War; propaganda and lies that propelled decent God-fearing folks to murder and slay innocent men, women and children here in South Africa. I think it is time that simple truths surface once more so that the enemy can never again pity us against each other to the point where our people destroy each other. The time of the nations (ethnos) are coming, a time when the nations described in the Bible will join forces to form the Anointed Nation, and for once and for all, vanquish our Creator’s enemies from the face of this earth. Those lying, thieving, murderous bastards.

    • @silverbullion perhaps I wasn’t clear in my meaning, or you mistook it, but I strongly advocate all Peoples’ natural right to arm themselves as they please. The link you provided on correlation between low murder rates among freely armed populations underlines others I’ve seen of the same kind and conclusion.

    • @Patfields It might be a combination of both, but I’ve got no hard feelings. We’re not free but as free men we must speak, leaving at least some room for differences in opinion, so that there are more food on the table, a greater selection if I may. Of course not the point where it erupts in a murder of crows… where we pick each others’ eyes with personal insults and the likes, but just far enough so that all of us can come to the understanding that we share at least one love, namely silver.

  29. @427. I agree in a lot of ways. I do believe that the last time anyone entered the British Houses of Parliament with honest intentions was in 1605.

As a resident of the United States’ biggest aircraft carrier, I am not ungrateful for all the protection that the USA’s arsenal has to offer. However, I cannot help but feel a little irritated that it costs so damned much and does such great damage.

I highly recommend you watch a film by the Renegade Economist called Four Horsemen. It’s an eye opener, for sure.

    Respectfully yours, Tawnyard.

    • I look at passive behavior as a negative trate. And it’s not guns that cause the harms and ills of the world but man himself. One can kill with there hands if thats what they chose to do. As one can protect with superior strength regardless what is in there hand.

    • I look on passive cooperation as a strength. Remember, our everyday police do not bear firearms. They negotiate long before they ever use physical force.

All men feel rage at times. Justified or otherwise. I simply feel safer and happier living in a country where guns are uncommon. They are only really in the hands of our nations’ sportsmen and our highly disciplined military forces.

Here’s a lovely anecdote I read somewhere.   “There was a joint mountain climb with the USMC and the Royal Marines. The US marines wore t-shirts saying “USMC second to none”. Meanwhile the Royals yomped past wearing t-shirts that said ‘none’ “

    • Anecdote: Humorous, often fictitious story told by those suffering from cranial posteriosis.

Nothing personal, Tawny. But my son was USMC. Got 92% on the asvab testing. Top shooter in boot camp. Scored over 90% in boot camp in PFT. Meritorious promotion in boot camp, yada yada yada… Yes, I’m bragging, and I guess defending the USMC. I’m sure you are just as proud of the Royal Marines. You opinions are entertaining and interesting.

BTW, he would have gotten 100% in PFT after boot camp, but that was not allowed ;) I think that was to keep them striving for something. Can’t have too many guys in the air wing getting a 300 in PFT, LOL!

    • @undeRGRound LOL! I missed that comment first time round. I was just joshing with you guys. There’s not much to choose between the RM and the USMC, both attract the brightest, most capable recruits. You should be proud of your son with scores like that.

I think the point of the USMC/RM anecdote is the incredible resilience, cameraderie and good-natured sense of humour that all our special forces display under the toughest conditions.

    • Yeah, it’s all good, Tawny.

My son has an interesting story related from a British Harrier pilot, with whom they were having a pint.
It is not a politically correct story, and not exactly suitable for mixed company, either  LOL! But, the pilot
was not so uptight that he could not hang out and socialize with the enlisted men, who were charged with
the upkeep and maintenance of his aircraft. Good PR move, having a brew with the guys who literally have
your life in their hands! I’ll always remember that.

    • : )

  30. @427 For what it’s worth, I am glad to see you posting.

  31. @Tawnyard, it’s an invaluable pleasure to have a … written … Constitution which (contrary to popular opinion, is not of a ‘living’ nature, maleable by mercurial whim and fancy of either willful legislative statute, nor even such caprice of a ‘majority’), incontrovertably defines reservations of our States’ inhabitants, thus …  ”A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” (Second Amendment to the Constitution.)

Regardless of one’s sensibilities, the sole provision of the federal Constitution (roughly duplicated in those of the several States, as well) expressly deemed ‘necessary’, is the … duty … to involve one’s self in the State Militia; an intrinsic element of which is to keep arms.

Now, should AGXIIK rather have been a Swiss National, proudly illustrating Swiss militia accoutrement, would he have raised similar ‘attention’? Or, do you also perceive the Swiss as so many ‘Rambos’?

    • Ha ha ha I love it Pat you always have away with words

    • I am well aware of your constitution, and the requirement that the people have the right to bear arms (very useful should their militia call them up to active service). The USA used to be a very frightening place to live, I’m sure. The Second Amendment is a little dated now that we are in the age of modern warfare. Nowadays, when Uncle Sam requires the public to bear arms, he drafts them, issues them with a weapon and trains them in its use.

I don’t think there are many Swiss nationals who want to look like Rambo. I’m European and I’ve never met one. In any case, AGXIIK freely admits that dressing up like a soldier and toting a gun was a gag. He keeps the outfit handy, in case of a genuine emergency, but it’s not an outfit he’d run around the neighbourhood in.

It’s an interesting observation that, for all your ‘freedoms’, the United States incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other country. It’s rapidly approaching 1%, isn’t it? Crikey.

    • “It’s an interesting observation that, for all your ‘freedoms’, the United States incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other country. It’s rapidly approaching 1%, isn’t it? Crikey.”

Yes, one of those insoluble conundrums that exist. Actually, it’s rather clear, in part it comes from the progressive mindset. Government policy creates problems, then applies over-reaching solutions that seemingly justify more govt. intrusion :(
We need a strong 3rd party, to force a parliamentary situation here in the USA. I do admire that about jolly old England…

    • @undeRGRound I believe the solution being mooted is to release all your felons earlier. The trouble is, all these dangerous firearms are still out there for them to use. Yikes. I have to agree with you. The United States has lost its way. Hopefully the way forward is not through bloodshed.

@Silverbullion History is littered with terrible atrocities. Sadly, we do not seem to learn from them.  Look at what’s happening in Greece, with the rise of a neo Nazi party. They even have a new ‘swastika’. Ugh.

    • ”A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
I wish this part could also be written on the Canadian’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Most of the Canadian citizens don’t own a gun because you have to go through a lot of troubles to get a license and most of them don’t see the point at taking their time to do it. :(

    • @Sumkid In my opinion, that’s a GOOD THING. As a Brit, I’m really happy to live in a country where there aren’t many guns. I feel safe.

I’ve been to the States loads of times, and one thing I don’t feel comfortable about is all the guns.

I stayed in a motel in Albuquerque once, in 1999. I was traveling alone for a month, circumnavigating the States. So picture this. I’m all on my own, checking in at like, 10pm. I should have felt happy to be getting some rest, but I felt like crap. Why? Because I’m standing there paying for my room, and the clerk is sitting in a little cubicle behind bullet proof glass. Bullet proof glass??? I mean, WTF?!!!!

Son, I feel proud that I live in a country where we don’t have a lot of guns.  And you should too.

Because when the sh it really hits the fan, Canada is going to be a much better place to live than the USA, because of it.

    • @tiburonsmoke What if the government in the UK and in Canada become tyrants? How are you going to defend against that? I don’t know how you protect yourself with a knife against multiple armed polices who came to kill everyone that are against the government’s absolute power. How should we be proud to live in a country were we have to pay with our taxes to our Queen? The royal family is a waste of taxpayers cashes! Sometime whenever I handle the coins in Canada, I think of ways that I can get rid of that devil’s face off of the coins.

    • Nobody wants to be a tyrant. The government of the UK and Canada are trying to do an impossible task.

Here in the UK, the government is trying to pay for stuff they’ve promised us, but they really can’t afford. Stuff like health care, unemployment benefits and education. Rather than put the taxes up, which would get everyone screaming, they’re quietly printing the money to pay for all the stuff. Of course, all that extra money kicking around has a bad effect. The money’s got to go somewhere, so it eventually pushes prices up. We get inflation, which hurts poor people the most. But, as James Sinclair says, if the government didn’t print the money, society would break down in weeks. It would be horrible.

Here in the UK, our police forces don’t carry guns. We’re taught at school that a policeman is our friend. : )  On the whole, I have to say that our police are pretty cool. I can’t see them being jerks and coming round trying to kill everyone.

The situation in the States – ironically, a ‘free’ country – is a little different.  I would have to agree with some of the posters here that their freedoms are being eroded even faster than in either of our countries. If I lived in the USA, I’d be nervous. But I don’t. I live in Wales. So I feel very lucky.

Having a Royal Family used to annoy me, but now I’m older I really don’t mind them. For one thing, the Queen has very little influence in government. She’s really just a figurehead. Another plus is that tourists come from all round the world to see the Queen and Buckingham Palace and the cool guards. The amount of income this generates for our economy is far, far, far greater than the amount it costs to keep the Royal Family. They’re an asset, not a liability.

Oh, and for a long time now, the Queen and other royals have been paying income tax, just like the rest of us. And our Princes both serve in the armed forces. Prince Harry has been serving in Afghanistan. He isn’t getting special privileges. My mate (also serving in Afghanistan) outranks him! One final thing to think about is, these guys don’t have any choice. They were born into the family. So they’re expected to perform their duty. Traveling round the world, meeting people, shaking hands, watching parades, tribal dances, opening public buildings… it’s endless. Their whole lives they do this. It’s actually work. They can’t even retire. The Queen is 86 and she’s still working. She’s got to work until she dies.

Prince Charles has been working all his life too. He’s near retirement age. And he hasn’t even started his job of being king yet. I don’t hate the royal family, I feel sorry for them. And I feel kind of proud that the UK is different from most other countries.

As for the monarchy in Canada, well, I guess you’ve got the same situation. It’s all about tradition, not power. The Queen doesn’t interfere in government. Incidentally, one of the most important responsibilities the Queen has is to “ensure that a democratically elected government is always in place.” A Canadian Government. A lot of Canadians don’t realise that Canada only got a decent government in the first place because of the monarchy.

Next time you look at your stack of Maples, just think some things through. You live in one of the safest, most free countries in the world.  Plus you’ve got Eric Sprott. Plus the Maple is the purest silver coin in the world – 9999!  You’re lucky.

    • @Tawnyard  Allright Taffy Go get them Lassie. I can see now you have a wee bit of Scottish in you. Lol

    • @tiburonsmoke According to my researches, the Royal family isn’t subjected for taxes and the taxpayers do pay for the Queen. People from the UK pay 0.68 pound per person every year. I think now the tax has gotten up so the people pay even more. Why would you care about the Royal family? They are part of the elite of the world. They are the 1% of the people who are against the 99% of the we the people. Ask French and American people about their lives without a Royal family.
The destruction of the Louis family: -1 for the elites and +1 for we the people!
The destruction of the relationship between the 13 Colonies (USA) and England: -1 for the elites and +1 for we the people!
I believe all human beings should be represented equally so the Royal family should represent the same as a normal standard family. No humans were born to represent their superiority to the others.

“Canada only got a decent government in the first place because of the monarchy” Stephen Harper, a decent government? Give me a break! X(

The safest, most free country in the whole history of mankind is the USA from the 1700′s and the 1800′s.

    • @Sumkid No offense young man but the Royal Family does pay taxes for a couple off years now. I’m also from the UK and living in the USA but I’m not taking sides in this squabble. Here is a link you can check out.  http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081109075629AAzTMI4

    • @Sumkid The Royal Family have set a precedent for paying taxes on their personal income, and this moral obligation will be passed down through future generations.

      Just 68 pence? Bargain!

I care about the Royal Family because they have no choice. I see them as an asset. If you saw the crowds of Americans outside Buckingham Palace getting all excited and trying to get a glimpse of the Queen, you’d understand.

I don’t think the French and American people have done so well, to be honest. I’m not saying they shouldn’t be republics, but I think they could have made better choices. The French have an utterly socialist government that is taxing them to hell, to pay for stuff they don’t need and can’t afford. The Americans are in a little hell of their own making. Britain is hardly in better financial shape, but at least we don’t have to contend with guns, fear, paranoia and the bleedin’ Patriot Act!

Things have changed in the UK since the days of the 13 colonies. Here in Britain, the average person gets a far better deal. I have had a completely free education (university), free dental and medical services my entire life. Free unemployment benefits, too.   Oh, and free legal aid, any time I needed to hire a lawyer. Okay, so everybody pays taxes, but everybody gets the same basic level of care.

Yes, Canada got a bloody marvelous government system, thanks to the monarchy. It’s not their fault who you voted in. LOL!

I’d rather live in modern day Britain than eighteenth century USA. Ahem.  ;)

    • “I don’t think the French and American people have done so well, to be honest. I’m not saying they shouldn’t be republics, but I think they could have made better choices.”
I’m not sure about the American people but the French people didn’t had any other better choices. The king of France raised taxes and the citizens were angry because the bourgeois payed less taxes than the other people. So, the king organized a meeting to solve the problem and the French people asked the king to raise the bourgeois’ taxes so that both of them can pay the same amount. The bourgeois declined and the king ran away from France because he’s scared to get killed by the people since he didn’t raised the taxes. Then, a bartender found out the king running away and he recognized him all thanks to a French coin. The French were even more angry and disappointed at him because he ran away so that he could get more help more other kings in Europe to wipe off the French people. They originally didn’t wanted to kill their own king but their king was a traitor. So, they started the French Revolution and then, they cut off the king and all the members his family’s head off to end the monarchy.

    • Thank you for the history lesson, Sumkid. I actually used to live in Hotel de Ville, in Paris, on the same block where Robespierre hid out until he was arrested and guillotined the next day for his part in the Reign of Terror.

Pretty soon, there won’t be many rich people to worry about in France, because the socialist government is putting the taxes up so high for rich people that a lot of them will just leave.

Britain had a socialist government back in the 1960s and 1970s. And guess what! They brought in a supertax and big surcharges. Big earners like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones actually ended up paying 98% tax. No wonder they left Britain. Imagine making 2c for every $1 you earned!

In the United States of America, the ‘elite’ pay less taxes than the other people. But I don’t see anybody in Congress having meetings to do something about it. Why? Because a lot of the people in power in America are pretty darned rich and are just trying to get even richer.  And rich people bribe them to keep the fiat money Ponzi scheme going. It will all end in tears.

Just be glad you live in Canada.

  32. @427 , @2oz, and @silverbullion , good to see you guys back around.

  33. “SOLDIER X” huh?  And, let me guess…this social unrest is only gonna happen if Obama wins?  (or at least is more likely to happen if he wins….right?  )

The only thinig you can be for sure of….is that our debt’s gonna get bigger, interest rates are going to stay negative, the defecit is going to get bigger, the wars will continue, the jobless rate will stay high and the publice is going to grow more and more and more discontented.  A couple more years of this crap and this nation is RIPE for a “savior” figure to appear.

The two-party system is an utter failure and is the single greatest threat to an effective representaitve government that we face…..it is right up there with the corporatization of the media.

MY fear is that this “savior” is going to appear, be wildly recieved and accepted with a mandate for change…and that this person will be anything but benevolent and just…..afterall, the majority of people don’t want freedom…they want security and they want to have the tough decisions made for them…..most Americans are content with having the freedom to choose what kind of cheese they want to buy…or what to watch on TV….the BIG choices are too hard, and they leave them
    up to the “Experts”.

Today, more than anytime in the history of the world….we may be witnessing the perfect combination for a totalitarian state…an apathetic public who is more scared with losing what little bit of wealth and standard of living they have….then they are with who is controlling what they read, hear, see or know.   This is the same society who has the  greatest military force in the history of man….and who also has the more integrated communications and media system the world has ever seen…..now, all that is needed is the spark to start the fear.  They have the ability NOW to listen to, watch, record, control, and determine everything you see….eat….buy….believe.   It will only take a public a little more willing and a person / group a little more malicious to make the plunge…..and once it’s taken…..we won’t be back up for a breath of freedom for a long time.  We have, as one former NSA operative said….a “Turn-Key Totalitaian State”….

Now….this has been building for 30-40 years.  Is anyone here stupid enough to think this is all Obama’s doing?  YOU are just as much to blame as he is.  He is just the man at the seat of power…the power is given to him (at least for now) by us.  It is Apathy that is your enemy.  It is mistrust and envy of your neighbor that is the enemy.  It is your need to be “entertained” and “titilated” that is the problem….and it is your over-riding desire for comfort and security that makes you head down this path….

So..you go vote on November 6th….and while you are there, take a minute to reflect on the inevitability of it all….do you think that your vote for Mittens….or your Vote for Obama are going to change the general trajectory we have been heading towards since 1975….(and more noticeable since 2000)?

God help us all.  (even if  you don’t believe in God)

  34. @Tawnyard your awareness of our Constitutions is tainted by confusion of the terms, ‘Subject’ and ‘Citizen’.  You see, the Constitution doesn’t … confer … the right and duty of Americans to be armed, it rather … recognizes and acquiesces to … The Peoples’ reservation of that pre-existing right. As such right is natural to one’s existence, it’s inherent at birth and only becomes ‘dated’ at death.

Funny how ‘unseemly appearance’ of our Revolutionary Militias proved to be the undoing of His Majesty’s officer corp and dragoons. One is often self-deceived by assessment of a People on mere appeal of their garb.

On your final point … once our fellows awaken to the necessity of recovering our commandeered judicial systems from State monopoly, we can undo the outrage of politicians ‘criminalizing’ innocent behavior, by returning Nullification of un-Constitutional statutes to our Juries.

  35. @Tawnyard Right on. I would like to refer to them as “play Nazis” and gutter trash who claim to be “Nazis,” but who are a disgrace to their heritage. Some who read this may have that abomination imprinted into their minds, and believe they understand National Socialism. Nothing could be further from the truth. No matter how “white” or “proud” to be white such scum are, they are a tool of Zionism. The Jewish “boogeyman Nazi” propaganda and lies concerning Hitler and National Socialism have attracted anti-social miscreants to falsely use symbols and names; these miscreants have no clue what National Socialism entails.

A perfect example of this is the mentally disturbed misfit and his Jewish sidekick who killed some of the best and brightest white kids at Columbine High School in Colorado on Hitler’s birthday. These two claimed to be devotees of Hitler, yet they butchered innocent kids who are the future of the white race in an act of social hatred and racial betrayal. Hitler would have condemned their actions with the fiercest of words. Such are not National Socialists.

    • @PatFields Subject or citizen, it makes no odds. to me We’re none of us free. Wherever a man or woman can walk into the wilderness and build a home for their family without being arrested, then they might be able to say that they live in a land where the constitution is meaningful.

@Silverbullion Uh, I hope that meek, gentle brownish-beigey coloured people inherit the Earth. Seriously. The sooner we all merge into one big melting pot of humanity, the happier we’ll all be.  The iPad is mightier than the sword.

I think the worst lies ever told about Hitler were those told to the German people while he was in power.

  36. @silverbullion my Father taught me at a very young age that ‘No idea is ever advanced by agreement.’ Discourse slakes the mind’s daily thirst.

As for ‘love’ of silver … in that conceptualization, I can’t concur. Silver is a tool only. I rather love Liberty devolved FROM it.

    • @Patfields Exactly.

I must add that my definition of love of silver encompasses Liberty and all that devolves from it, including the friends that I’ve made and lost here.

    • Agreed. I don’t love silver, either. Or gold. They’re just pretty metals. I love the mountains and the rivers and the coastline. I love people and animals. I love Coca Cola and Marmite on toast. I love the warmth of the sun on my face. I appreciate the security that investing in PMs affords me.

    • I’ve heard from one of the SBSS episodes that talks about people loving their objects more than other people. Chris Duane explained that what is the point of loving an object when that object won’t love you back. Loving another person is the most important love because that person can at least love you back.

  37. Does anybody fancy a nice hot cup of tea and a slice of cake?

    *beams warmly around the room*

  38. @Tawnyard The sooner we all merge into one big melting pot of humanity, the happier we’ll all be” – I am sorry, what you’re calling for is racial genocide. If happiness calls for racial genocide, then you can count me out.

    • No, I’m not calling for it. But I don’t believe in enforced racial purity or white supremacy either.  I see nothing wrong with racial integration. Less to fight about. You don’t have to lose your identity just because you have a Jewish wife or a Muslim brother in law. And what does it matter if your nephews and nieces or grandchildren have different coloured skin or go to a different church?

If you’ve ever seen a bulldog with hip dysplaysia, a rottweiler with cancer or a dachshund with spinal disease, you will know what I am talking about. Mongrels are usually the healthiest dogs.  Let’s mix it up a bit!  ;)

  39. @Tawnyard Yeah, it makes perfect sense: You don’t believe in “enforced racial purity” but you believe in enforced race mixing to the point where genocide takes place, because race mixing on the level you advocate boils down to racial genocide.

    • No, no, no. Nobody should be forced into anything. Maybe we should just all aim to rub shoulders aimiably? I dunno, like try to be a bit like New York?  Blacks, whites, hispanics, chinese, gays, lesbians, taxi drivers, firefighters, bankers… Okay, maybe not bankers.

Crikey. Now my head’s spinning. I need to go lie down for a bit.

    • @Tawnyard Crikey. Now my head’s spinning. I need to go lie down for a bit” – Exactly. It will make your head spin the moment you give it some serious thought. lol

  40. @Tawnyard I suggest we conclude the melting pot business here. I will conclude by saying that I like my silver refined to 99.99%. lol :-)

  41. @Tawnyard Maybe I should add the following for comic relief: Follow the debasement of gold and silver coins and you will follow the debasement of races.

  42. As I enjoy a hot cuppa and a spot of Bovril on a piece of toast,  I contemplate the note that we have the largest prison population in the world, 5 times larger than any other country.  1.7 million are incarcerated. If this was the head count of a for profit company, it would be one of the largest employers in the world.
With the advent of publically traded  corporations running many of these prisons, we have created one of the largest slave labor gulags in the world.  Like any profit motivated business, these companies need more warm bodies to manufacture goods and services.  I think this is the reason why we have so many laws;  not to regulate the behavior of the common man but to help feed the appetite for cheap labor.   Run afoul of just one of  these many obtuse, contradictory and minuscule laws and you get to join the chain gang or labor camp.  I kid you not on this.
I am closer to LEO and the judicial system than I expected by way of my volunteer affiliations so I get some interesting input from these sources. Since the government declared the War on Poverty and War on Drugs 40 years ago, it’s clear there’s been no victors, just victims. The poor lost.

Something is decidedly wrong in this and I think it’s contributed to the decline of civility and accomodation in this country.  We used to be able to leave our homes and cars unlocked.  Now we live in fear of the criminals lurking around the corner. So we beg our politicians to fix the problems. They oblige. We end up with more laws.
There is a loose but distinct correlation between excess monetary printing, inflation, currency degradation, impoverishment of the people by the central banks and governments. The ultimate erosion of our sovereign rights and societal values comes shortly thereafter.
As the currency declines in value, inflation creates harsh conditions that are evident across the globe. This incredibly debilitating pressure erodes our willingness or even ability to retain a modicum of decent and civil behaviour; present company excluded.  The toll of the laws mounts as the legislators try to curtail bad behavior or even formerly innocent actions with harsh measures and regulations. You can be jailed for smoking or drinking in formerly safe venues. And thus our prisons explode to overflowing with people who were, for the most part, in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know this is a touchy subject and some of what I note is fact and some is speculation but there is an undeniable statisic and that is the 1,700,000 in jail today.

    • Beautifully written and well observed.

We must surely be reaching breaking point in the system. One way or another, there will be a revolution soon. I wonder what kind of society will rise from the ashes? I don’t think I can be that pessimistic about it. I’ve watched movies like Four Horsemen and I see a different attitude. An awakening. We live in a world of information. I just know that this time it will be different.

I am so glad I live in a country where I don’t need to lock my car or my house.  I hope we all can live that way someday.

I absolutely ******* love Bovril on toast!  I didn’t know you guys ate that. If there’s one thing nicer than Marmite on toast, it’s Bovril.

    • Right on AG.

    • So many people were arrested for just consuming illegal drugs. I mean don’t these consumers have the freedom to choose what they want to consume? It’s their choice so they can do whatever they want as long as they don’t affect the others. They also have the liberty to pass the illegal drugs to others as long as the other person isn’t forced to consume them and they know what they were taking.

    • @Sumkid I can see a few big problems with your viewpoint right away.

      1. What if the person taking those illegal drugs gets sick? Don’t they then become the responsibility of the State? I guess everyone else would have to pay to take care of them or their dependents.

      2. When drugs are legal, they become freely available. It’s much easier for kids to get hooked on them. Shouldn’t we take steps to protect kids from this?

      3. When a person is on drugs, they are usually not capable of making good decisions. Suicides and murders have been committed by people high on drugs.  Sometimes people get high on drugs when they’ve got others depending on them. Small children have died because their parents were high on drugs. Most drugs are habit forming or highly addictive. So when the junkie needs another fix, do you think they are going to care about who’s looking after their kids?

    • @tiburonsmoke 1. Then the country should make a law where if you get sick from the illegal drugs that you’ve consumed, you have to pay the hospital fees. There are millions of people who get sick from fast foods, soft drinks, artificial chocolates, etc, and they get their fees paid by the government. Plus these substances are legal! So, shouldn’t we also ban all these substances since they make people sick and they’ll become the State’s responsibility?
      2. Well it’s the parents’ fault if the kids were able to receive these illegal drugs because the parents should’ve kept more attention to their kids. If the kids’ healths are getting bad, then the police should do an inquiry to see who gave the illegal drugs to the kids.
      3. Well it is their fault if they aren’t capable of making good decisions since they choose to consume illegal drugs. It is their liberty to chose whatever they want to consume as long as they don’t affect the others but they have to prepare to accept the consequences of liberty such as not capable of making good decisions.

The only illegal “drug” that should become legalized is marijuana. It is less dangerous than cigarettes which are legal and marijuana never caused any deaths. I’ll give you all my silver stacks if you could find me at least one death caused by marijuana and it should be from an official confirmed report! Good luck with your research! ;)

    • @Sumkid  1. Unfortunately, we can’t make people pay their medical bills. And there are laws to protect us from stores and restaurants that make us sick with contaminated food.

      2. That is a good idea. But wouldn’t it make the kids safer to stop the drugs in the first place? Rather than wait until something bad happens and then send the police when it’s too late.

      3. Illegal drugs tend to attract the kind of dumb people who can’t make good decisions no matter what!

Did you know that taking marijuana regularly increases your risk of developing shizophrenia seven times?

    • @Tawnyard said>> “Illegal drugs tend to attract the kind of dumb people who can’t make good decisions no matter what!”
Im sorry that commet as with others shows an ignorance of life and the people that live it.

Would you like to try again with knowledge backing your statement?

    • @tiburonsmoke 1. When I meant getting sick from fast foods, I meant that people can get diabetes, heart attacks and more. There aren’t any policies that protect people from these kinds of sickness. I can eat a lot of Double Big Macs every day which will give me a heart attack one day and no laws are going to protect me against that.

      2. Then kids should be educated on the effects of drugs. I know ways to get illegal drugs at my possession but does that mean I will be ordering illegal drugs and consume them. No because I know the effects of them and I don’t want to have these effects because they’re bad.

      3. That still doesn’t mean that they should stay illegal because alcohol and tobacco are legal drugs that attract a lot of people.

“Technically” yes but its not because of the marijuana. There are people who (sometimes unknowingly) have pre-existing psychological tendencies and enter a state of psychosis upon using marijuana. However, it is not due to the marijuana because the disorder could have been triggered by “ANY” mind altering substance such as tobacco and alcohol who are legal drugs.

    • You’re right, there isn’t any legislation to prevent us from eating unhealthy food. But trust me, they’re working on it. Personally, I think it’s wrong to try to pass laws to make us eat healthier. One man’s meat is another man’s poison. Artificially sweetened drinks are just as harmful as sugary drinks. The government should let us make our own minds up. There’s plenty of information out there to help us make good decisions.

That’s a fair point about the psychosis. I’d have to read up on it. Having said that, alcohol and tobacco are two of the worst kind of drugs, dude. Do we really want to add more to the list of legal but unhealthy drugs? I sure don’t.

    • @tiburonsmoke Yes! That’s what I was hoping for you to understand, that it is wrong to pass laws to make us eat healthier. What’s next? The government telling us what to eat? I am a human being who can consume whatever I want to eat. Even if I want to eat poop, it is my freedom to eat that but I have to accept the consequences of doing that (I won’t eat poop in reality. o_o It is just an example to show what is liberty!). We are born by nature to chose anything that we want to consume as long as it is natural in my opinion.

You can’t say that marijuana is unhealthy because it got way, way more healthy benefits than unhealthy benefits. “According to a survey on the recommendation of cannabis in California[18], cannabis is indicated for over 250 conditions. Cannabis is most importantly indicated as an antiemetic for the treatment of nausea and anorexia associated with treatments for cancer, AIDS, and hepatitis. Cannabis also acts as an antispasmodic and anticonvulsant and is indicated for neurological conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and spasms. As an analgesic and an immunomodulator it is indicated for conditions such as migraine, arthritis, spinal and skeletal disorders. As a bronchodilator it is beneficial for asthma. It also reduces the intraocular pressure and is indicated for glaucoma. Cannabis is also used to treat some mood disorders such as post traumatic stress disorder, clinical depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and bipolar disorder. It is also indicated for premenstrual syndrome, hypertension, and insomnia.”

    • @Sumkid Of course I understand. I’m a liberal. I just want to live in peace and be free. I tried marijuana once. It was yuck. It just made me feel drunk. That was when I was your age. I never tried it again.  I’ve met loads of people who regularly smoke dope. They’re not good company when they’re smoking it, so I avoid them. Quite a few of them tend to be paranoid. I don’t know why. Anyway, I don’t hang out with them. Who wants to sit around giggling all night, staring at patterns in the table cloth?

Watch this. A British band’s perspective on legal versus illegal drugs. You might find it interesting. I found a subtitled version, just in case you had trouble with their accents.

The Streets - The Irony Of It All

    • @tiburonsmoke I never tried marijuana and I don’t really want to try it before 20 years old because marijuana can make you lose some IQ points if you have start consuming it at early age. Unless if someone offers me a joint for free.

    • Think about what you just said to me.

You actually believe that if you’re under 20, marijuana can lower your IQ, but if you’re over 20 you’ll be just fine? However, if someone gives you a free joint, you’re happy to try it now (aged 16)?

This is why we have laws to protect kids.

      I rest my case.

    • @Sumkid, you must have been yanking my chain, right? Tell me you were just having a joke.  ;)

    • @tiburonsmoke I don’t want to miss my opportunity for a free joint because you have to get through a lot of troubles to get some. If a person offers me another joint before the age of 20 years old, I would’ve decline it if I already tried it once.

    • ha ha ha you two are too funny, Sumkid stay away from weed lol your not missing anything. Look at how much more silver you will have not to mention brain cells…

    • @Sumkid @427 Yeah, I’m 100% with 427. It ain’t worth it. You really aren’t missing anything. Just think of all those adult smokers who wish they could go back in time and not have that first cigarette. Or all those alcoholics who wish they’d never touched the stuff.

A surprising number of people get hooked on cigarettes because they smoked spliffs with tobacco in. It only takes a handful spliffs with tobacco in to get hooked on the nicotine. You wouldn’t want that.

As for the ‘medicinal’ properties of marijuana, if you read up on tobacco, you’ll find all kinds of similar claims. Doesn’t make it smart to be a smoker, does it? ;)

Just keep stacking and look after yourself. You sound like a smart young man. To have figured out the fiat Ponzi scheme by your age, that takes some doing. Most adults on the planet haven’t figured it out yet. I think you’ll do just fine and make some pretty good decisions for yourself along the way. Respect.

    • @Sumkid
      @Tawayard

lol the kid is brilliant and nice. Kid your mind is going a mile a minut no sense in slowing it down know… Im sure you can make your life anything you want it to be. However there is such a thing called “Self Destructive  Behavior” a rout you do not want to take trust me.

Heres a saying It’s Cool To Be Square

The cool guys end up with nothing…0

The square guys end up with nice cars, houses, businesses and yes the hot momma who wants safety and security in a responsible man. In the end this is the cool guy

    • @427 If you’re saying that weed kills brain cells, then that’s not true because it’s a propaganda made by Ronald Reagan.
“This widespread belief comes from a government test performed in the 80′s in which monkey were strapped with gas masks filled with marijuana smoke. The monkeys died, and had autopsies performed that showed their brain cells had been damaged. These results were used to declare that marijuana was the cause of the damaged brain cells, when in reality the cause was suffocation. There was not enough oxygen mixed into the gas masks along with the marijuana smoke, and the monkeys all suffocated to death – which kills brain cells. Several studies have been performed in more recent years that have repudiated the results of this monkey test, and proven that marijuana does not actually kill brain cells, yet this continues to be a common belief among Americans.”

So lack of oxygen kills brain cells, not marijuana itself. Stop making marijuana look bad.

Anyway, thanks for the compliments! :)

      Source: http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/5-facts-you-didnt-know-about-marijuana-2494847.html

@tiburonsmoke Marijuana is less addictive than tobacco. This is a comparison of marijuana addiction to the others. You see that small blue bar? Yup! That’s marijuana! Even caffeine is more addictive than weed!

Anyway, thanks for the compliments! :)

    • That graph is dubious. I quit caffeine last week. No biggie. I’ve been sleeping much better, and the withdrawal headaches stopped after 2 days. Yet caffeine is ranked up there with nicotine, heroin and alcohol? No way. I’ve got friends been trying to quit nicotine for decades.

Did you ever think that Reagan’s administration might have been indulging in marijuana or maybe something stronger, like LSD? You’d have to be off your face on some kind of  drug, to think up things like strapping masks full of smoke to monkeys, and then slicing their brains open.

      Google ‘devil’s advocate’, Sumkid.

      Nite!

    • PS: One last thing, Sumkid. I don’t need to make marijuana look bad. We all know it tastes real bad and it stinks bad too.  Bong breath… eww!

That’s reason enough to steer clear.    ;)

    • Sounds like Experience, Tawny-Baby!  (JK)
      :* G’Night!!!

    • @Sumkid

I dont care about any modder test results you read lol, I am the test! What where you doing in the 60s? What where you doing in the 70s? What where you doing in the 80s?  What where you doing in the 90s? <Oh Sumkid was born maybe 97 S..H..I..T all my cars are older than you.

How do you want to debate this? how about when you take a hit of weed and it expands so much you have a brain aneurism coifing. That didn’t fry any brain cell…

    • @tiburonsmoke Not everyone knows that it taste “bad” because I never taste it so I don’t know its flavor.

@427 What’s wrong about debating about weed? And no, it didn’t fry my brain cells because I never tasted weed. Even if I did it, weed wouldn’t destroy brain cells but if you consume it before you’re 20 years old, then weed will drop your IQ points.

  43. Ha ha ha when was the last time this site had over a 100 comments on one thread?

    • When is the last time we had a lovely new commentator like Tawny?   ;)

    • lol You can ask that again.

    • Boys, you flatter me. Anyone would think you are starved of female company here at SD.  ;)

Okay, okay, less of the tongue in cheek, Silverbullion. ;)

    • @Tawnyard LMAO SD reads at the bottom: “SPEAK YOUR MIND”. I take it quiet literally with tongue in cheek. lol

    • I’ve never seen one of the Silver Doctors website’s article having more than 100 comments and I was on this website ever since it was first created. So, this is the first one on this website! The other Silver Doctors blog has a lot of articles with more than 100 comments since anyone could have post a comment without an account.
Congrats Doc on your first article on this website that ever had more than 100 comments! :D

  44. I don’t know about you guys with your Bovril on toast but being from Scotland WE DRINK IT. (Best Drink Around)  LMAO

  45. AND MY FAVORITE

  46. Oooch aye the noo!

  47. @Tawnyard Are you a girl? lol I am not good at spotting girls when it comes to English names.

E.g. testimonial left by ICCOIN employee: “My husband knows that when he shops for jewelry he should start and end with Danforth Pewter!”Shawn, 31 years of service.

  48. Lol I’m a girl

    • Go girl!   :)

    • You really are? LOL! I though you were a man ever since I first saw you on this website which was when the website itself was first created! :D

    • @Sumkid

lol youngster I was joking, watch a few tripping over themselves talking to twany ha ha ha . I saw your other post about my comment on the volume of comments here on this thread. My point was more directed about my brothers and I stepping in and posting hear again. When we start posting as a group we tend to communicate off topic and the thread evolves to what we make it. It was common for us in the past to get high comment counts on a post but when we left I was seeing counts like 14-25. I am glad to see you still participating here and within the grater silver community

    • @427 So you’re actually a man! -_-
I sure do participate here but sometime, I feel lonely while commenting because I don’t see others from my age posting comments. Although, there was one guy who is 16 years old on this website and his username is SilverTeen96. But the last time he was active was one month and three weeks ago.

    • @427 ROFL Ok cutie you’ve been deceiving me all these years. Lol

    • @Sumkid

Dose age really matter? You can chop it up with me lol anytime. I have seen you posting late night here and Im west coast. Im sure it’s hard for your age group to stay focused on subjects like this but you stand the test of time. That shows a true interest on your part.

    • @mrachas45

ha ha ha dam I wish I never tried to make a joke lol. Im spending more time cleaning it up ha ha ha I better not say the sky is falling

    • @427           The Real 427 ROFL

    • Lol now im Carmen Bernanke! thanks bud

One more post here and we made 200 comments!!! lol Stay on Topic

    • @427 What I meant by lonely is that I’m the only one who stay focused on subjects like this while the others aren’t. But the discussions are more fun when it is with someone of your age because you can talk with that person about most of the fun stuffs the people of our age do.

    • @Sumkid
I got you the fact is the ones that I ended up clicking with are my age group. Anyway you cool so dive into what ever Im ranting on weather you agree or disagree

    • OK, who else likes to dress up as females around here?

ROFL, wow, SK was right, hard to stay ON TOPIC!!!

  49. Ha ha ha a bunch of tricks lol

  50. @Doc
did you ever think about having a dating site? Lol lure them in with silver

  51. @Tawnyard LMAO Now that I retrace my posts it actually comes over as something I didn’t intended at all:

    “And maple syrup”

    “bottoms up”

    “tongue in cheek”

  52. @Charlie I’ll skip the tea and crackers.

  53. I’m definitely female. I just don’t make a big deal of it.  Except when replying to AGXIIK. He’s such a stud with that getup!  ;)

A female stacker. I don’t think I’m the only one here.

    I’m not, am I? :)

  54. @ undeRGRound                ROFL 427 (DAN) sure will be SURPRISED ROFL

  55. Here’s an idea for Silver Doctors.  Yes, a dating site.
I can see the post now

Lonely silver stacker seeks female companionship
    Must be like minded
Please send picture of your stack

  56. ROFL I saw that maybe he was looking for Attention. Lol and so much for the 4 stack-a-teers. Lol

  57. And what’s wrong with one of the stack-a-teers being a girl anyways?

There’s nothing wrong with the size (and colour) of my stack.

*stands with hands on hips, glaring*

  58. Now your teasing LMAO Shit! just lost my power, need to go and turn on my generator, looks like I’m in for a rough night. Lol Good night all!

  59. Story of my life 427   Once again, size matters. Darn

    • Don’t worry AG we know how tall your stack stands. And back to the moral of the story if you going to hold a big stack it’s up to you to protect it. Do banks not have security? Do they not have armed gards at Fort Knox?

  60. Wow…took a while getting to the bottom of this one!! Cant remember a thread this long before.  I might even have to scan the Phyzz Stack Leaderboard to see if there has been any movement in the lower half ;-)

As nearly all semblance of serious discourse has been abandoned by now (…PatF excepted) I just thought I would pitch in with a few observations regarding us Brits and conditions here on our side of the Pond – just in case you were getting the impression we really were all a bunch of brown corduroy trouser wearing Mr Beans, rather than the cold-eyed stone-faced killers that once ran 3/4 of the planets land mass and 7/8 of its oceans.

Unarmed Bobbies……hahahaha….really, please, maybe in your Dixon of Dock Green nostalgia.  Just try waving a plastic gun around in a shopping centre (Mall) over here and see how long it takes for Armed Response Units to turn up bristling with better kit than our front line troops (HK G36 usually C or K variants with the double stack mags, folding stock and the optical sight, Glock 17s, AIAW rifles). Once they are on scene dont make the mistake of scratching your self or reaching for your mobile (cell).  There used to be a time when as an Armed Response Officer you got the call, raced into the Station and under signature of a Chief Superintendent or above you would draw out a .38 revolver or a Parker Hale rifle or maybe a Remy 870 with SG buckshot.  Now it’s usually a duty Sergeant who holds the armoury keys (where in most big stations you will find there is pretty much a side arm for every officer out on the beat….just in case). Fortunately things change and good thing too as in most of our larger cities £500-1000 gets you a nifty 9mm and one or two spare mags.

As for our beautiful countryside….plenty of guns out here, loads. In areas with good active Gamekeepers there is generally less crime – (having done that for many years up in Scotland myself)..why? because the Gamie knows his patch and notes any unusual activity or suspicious vehicles. Often it’s the arsy townies who have moved out to the rural idyl that get irate at us banging away at the local wildlife and vermin….but as I once pointed out to one such person…when you go on holiday we know when you have gone and while you are away you get an armed patrol past your door 3-4 times a week at any hour of the day or night, free of charge.  Sadly these days we are only allowed our long arms and I have to wait until business trips to the US or Dubai to pack in some intensive practise with the personal sidearm.  Intensive = 1,000+ rds in the US, rather less in Dubai (the retired Indian Police officers running the ranges get a bit stuffy about my methods – speed, close range and multiple targets, (but I usually win them over by teaching them how to shoot fast on strong side, weak eye).

Many years ago, shortly before our tussle in the South Atlantic, we had a team of USMC and a team of Dutch Marines turn up at Lympstone for a skill at arms contest – the USMC turned up all smart with ‘high & tight’ buzz cuts. The Dutch lads were decidedly less martial in their dress and hairstyles….our WO2 would not let them wear uniforms around the camp so they went round in tracksuits until the day of the competition.  Still, it didn’t dampen their enthusiasm or ability as they came 2nd to our lot.

Marmite for toast, Bovril for a hot drink and when in the Antipodes Vegemite will do for either purpose.

Anyway, I keep stacking and prepping and am near to where I feel I need to be on that. Our Conservative government has recently let it be known that while not officially sanctioned they would not look unfavourably upon a householder who shot a burglar or brained him with a golf club…one of the first sensible things they have come up with (although they still insist that my guns are all locked away and hard to get at in an emergency…still that’s what 25″ of naval boarding cutlass under the bed is for eh?

    • thx for the reminder, maples… LOL

    • Right on!

    • Entertaining read, Maples. Thank you.

Of course, the UK is 6% urban development (including villages) but only 2.27% built on. We’re not covered in shopping malls. Or shooting ranges. Most of Britain is rural countryside. Yes, police forces have an armed response unit but, thankfully, you don’t see those everywhere. The ‘Dixon of Dock Green’ bobby is very much alive and well in Britain. If you have ever stood outside a big city nightclub at 3am watching your enebriated brother mouthing off and throwing chips (fries) at a group of police officers, only to have them roll their eyes and say, “Take him home, love!” then you’ll know what it is to live in Britain.

Methinks you’re too keen on firearms to be representative of the typical Brit.

Yes, there are a lot of guns in the countryside. My father and brothers have gun licences and an impressive collection of double barreled 12 bore shotguns, kept under lock and key (where they should be), when they are not shooting pheasant, woodcock, snipe and rabbits. But I hardly think these are in the same calibre (pardon the expression) as what our dear cousins in the States are toting. The only other things you see in the British countryside are .22 caliber air rifles and pistols (for shooting pellets and ball bearings). If you want to see off a burgler with one of those, good luck to you. You’ll probably just make him mad and end up in court.

Automatic weapons, military weapons and any type of modern handguns are banned in the UK, and for good reason. The law governing .22, .243, .308 hunting rifles is very, very strict and you have to show good reason to apply for a licence. Anybody found breaking the law on firearms will be prosecuted and is likely to do prison time. Attempting to fire an obsolete caliber firearm (such as an antique) is an offence and – again – warrants prison time.

I do like the fact that our legal system is based on Case Law. This means it is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the people.  Like after Dunblaine. The vast majority of us Brits are polite, decent law-abiding citizens and we don’t need guns. So why would we mind legislation against them?

Like I said before, I feel safe in my country. Whether I’m strolling through city streets back to my car after a night out, or wandering in   the moonlight through large tracts of forestry whilst wild camping in the mountains, I feel safe.  Nobody is going to point a gun at me. Therein lies the difference in our cultures.

  61. I want a picture of a SNIPE!!! Please?

  62. Well as a Scotsman, I don’t carry Knifes, Chains, Knuckle Dusters, Razors or Broken Bottles and or Steele Toed Boots but I do have my 38 strapped to my chest and that wards off the ones that do. Lol
P.S. I also don’t use my weapons to kill animals, I actually feed them.

    • Ugh.

@Marchas45 If you were a Scotsman, living in Scotland, you would not be walking around with a .38 anywhere on your person. Scottish people don’t walk around with knives, chains, knuckle dusters, razors and broken bottles looking for someone to assault. If they did, they would be arrested. Where did you say you live?

I commend you on feeding the animals. My dad feeds them too. He only hunts to eat. He has foxes, badgers, squirrels, birds of prey, doves, etc in his garden.

    • lol I know Charlie, you feed the animals lead. lol

    • @Tawnyard ROFL  I think we are from different sides of the tracks Tawnyard. I grow up in the neighborhoods of Glasgow in the sixties and yes we carried some of the above mentioned for self defense as there where lots of gangs and still are and I know for a fact razors are still carried in parts of Glasgow and elsewhere..
As for the 38, lol Yes I carry one and I have a permit but has never been used in anger only for self defense if anything happens.
I live in the USA now and have a (should we say) Public Safety background. Lol
      End of Conversation

      LMAO! @Charlie

  63. That’s one more reason why you should also own a crossbow in your weapons’ inventories. If I was an American citizen that owned a gun and there is such law that has passed, I would not give away my gun like that since it’s like giving away my right so I would’ve hid it somewhere. I don’t know if that future gun confiscation law would also apply to crossbows.

    • Oh, that’s such a great idea. I’ll just blow the dust off my brother’s old Barnett Commando and dig out some bolts.

No, wait, I live in the UK. I’d get arrested and go to gaol.

      D’oh!

    • @tiburonsmoke According to Wikipedia, crossbows are legal to own and you don’t need a license or a registration to own one. So, the government won’t know that you own a crossbow.

    • LMAO @Tawnyard LOLz!

I think you write in a gaelic accent. Irish Girl, eh? My peeps came from Ireland!

    • @undeRGRound That is the correct spelling for the country I am in. I am a Celt. 1/8th Irish, 1/4 Scottish and 1/2 Welsh. I’ll leave you to guess the other 1/8th. I was born and bred in Wales, and I speak some Welsh, so I count myself as Welsh. But it doesn’t matter whether you were born in Scotland, Ireland, Wales or England, gaol is still gaol.  ;)

@Sumkid It depends what you want that crossbow for, and where you intend to use it. The law in the UK is clear. No potentially offensive weapons in a public place. This applies to crossbows too. Anything from a carpet knife to a catapault to a baseball bat to a pepper spray can potentially be seen as an offensive weapon. You can be arrested for having a fixed blade knife in the glove box of your car. You can be arrested for possessing a combat knife. The penalties are steep, and can include time in prison. I kind of like the law, although it does make my camping trips a bit dodgey, because I usually carry a 5″ fixed blade utility knife in my rucksack.

    • @Sumkid I should add that, in the UK, if you get found with a knife in your possession, you’d better have a damned good reason to be carrying it. I only carry my knife with me when I am camping in the wilderness. It’s a survival tool, and nothing more. Because I travel alone and I travel light, I need to carry it on me.

I suggest you read the article in Wikipedia on knife law. Scroll down to the UK. There’s so much law, it’s like a mini-encyclopedia by itself. ;)

  64. It’s funny how we’re just now finding out who’se the pointers and who’se the setters on Silver Doctor.
Hey Doc, can you give an internet version of the Crocodile Dundee girly man test.  Just in case someone really wants to know  LOL

    • @AGXIIK

lol that sounds fun im no girly man lol. Im glad Im in the USA listening to the two above AG dam can’t even go to a baseball game and have bat day. How do they go to work with tools??

  65. Tawnyard: “Illegal drugs tend to attract the kind of dumb people who can’t make good decisions no matter what!”

427: Im sorry that commet as with others shows an ignorance of life and the people that live it.
Would you like to try again with knowledge backing your statement?

No, that’s okay, 427. I’ll concede the point. Hell, I’ll even recant it:

Illegal drugs attract the kind of smart people who make good decisions all the time.

    • @Tawyard

Ok so your ignorant and a smartass…As with your way of life is the only way of life that you can see. Must be a small village you live in.

    • No, 427, I just know an oxymoron when I see one.

Look, I can’t win here, so that must mean you’re winning, okay?  ;)

  66. @Tawnyard

I was trying to be nice with my first questing. And you can win here if your mind is open to learning. But one can’t learn anything if there always talking and not willing to lissen. Im no brainyack but have learned things in my life and know I cant see my ears but you can. So if I recognize something ie: a behavior, sometimes it helps to take the cotton out of your ears and put it in you mouth it’s not going to kill you. You do seem to be a nice person so my intent is not to fight but equal sharing of information..

    • @427 I’m sorry. I’m not trying to fall out with you either. I’m just a really opinionated person. I have strong beliefs. For example, I believe that one aim of gun control is to protect civil liberty. Now you and I could argue about that til the cows come home, but there’s no need. All the arguing has been done before us. We’ve just got to agree to differ and wait to see what happens next.

If you want me to shut up, I will. I only started commenting because my mum died a month ago, and I need the distraction. Before that, I’ve been lurking for over a year. I feel sad about what’s happened to the USA, but I can also see why it happened. As a Brit, I can observe what’s going on in the States, Asia and Europe with a little detachment. I’m an islander. I’m here on SD because I’ve got an interest in other perspectives. I want to hear everyone’s opinions. I want to understand your points of view. Hell, that’s why I’ve been reading this forum for over a year.

I have to say though, I think mind-altering drugs are not the smartest choice, and that is a point I will always argue, especially when there are minors participating in the discussion.

    • @Tawnyard

I am vary sorry about your mom, and do know how that feels as well. I still miss mine and a year has passed since, there is quit a few of us in that boat as a lot of us are baby boomers.

Lol guns ya we won’t see eye to eye but I’ll work on you ha ha ha.

As far as what prompted this discussion it’s not a choice that most do drugs & alcohol, nor is it based on intellect. It’s a addiction a learned behavior not unlike the behavior that I express in seeing in you. An addictive personality is genetically passed down to the child as they grow they come apon issues in there life. They will reach out to drugs and alcohol to mask to make them feel better to escape the reality. Before long they feel it’s a normal part of there life. This kind of behavior is not just relegated to drugs there is many disorders that a human can have. So without getting to deep I think you can see my reaction to the choice of words and would of rather seen more compassion to people and there strife. lol girl you seem to be one of the most liberal around here than all us gun toting yankees. Im sure you can see this view.

    • Thanks, @427. My mum was just 64, a baby boomer herself.

As for drugs, I agree with you about addictive personalities. I know people who have this kind of personality, and it’s awful to see them wreck their bodies and their lives in substance abuse.

However, I do still think that these drugs (including tobacco and alcohol) are extremely addictive and habit forming. Even for people without pre-existing conditions that predispose them to addiction. There is a lot of unbiased information available that clearly explains the dangers, and yet young people still experiment with these drugs. Now in my book, that is just dumb.

  67. Sumkid   I always read your posts. It’s good to see someone thinking critically.  There is little enough of that type of thinking, particularly someone your age.  I can’t remember what I was doing when I was 16(the idea of that pains me) but it sure wasn’t giving any concern to the inportant aspects of precious metals, the economic conditions worldwide or any sort of thoughts about the banking and financial enterprises.   Keep up the good work, posting and trying to convert a few of your peers to this area of concern. That last item is a slow and tedious process but worth it since it gives you another person to bounce off ideas.
It’s pretty much a sure thing that you’ll have an impressive stack soon enough.  The precious metal value arc is about as sure a thing as I’ve studied in the last 5 years.  Keep stacking

Tawnyard I am sorry to hear of your loss. It’s that sort of loss that can test someone’s nerves and emotions. We are all on edge a bit here in the colonies and for many reasons so hang loose with us. We are all in it together. One thing I’ve noticed is that opinions are like belly buttons, everyone has one.

    • @AGXIIK Thank you. You’re so right. : )  Have a good evening. I’m finally going to hit the hay.

      Nite all!

    • @AGXIIK Thanks! It’s not that easy to convince everyone to buy physical gold and silver. Although, there is one of my friend that I was able to convince him into buying precious metals but he already knew the fiat currency devaluation and before, he actually wasn’t into precious metals. So, it was mostly with his own minds that he wants to buy precious metals and not because of me. He told he’s going to buy his first silver soon when he has some time. Most of the kids tell me “I don’t need that” and “What do you want me to do with it” whenever I tell them to buy physical gold and silver. But hey, that was also my reaction when I first heard about the fundamentals of precious metals.

  68. @Sumkid @427  It’s been a pleasure chewing the fat with you, gentlemen, but some of us are in other timezones and need to hit the sack. Goodnight all!

  69. Sign me up for CH3CH2OH.   THC don’t do nothin’ for me. If I wanted to drop my IQ by 30 points I’d turn my ballcap sideways.  A sure 50% drop IMO

    • Tee hee.

    • Hmmm, we noted that as C2H5OH but it’s the same I guess  :P

I like mine in a Guinness on top of a Bass, Harp or other lager  :D

      Black-n-Tan FTW! yummm

    • The main difference between CH3CH2OH and C2H5OH is how much work the student has to do.

I like AGXIIK’s notation. With brackets and suffixes, it’s a piece of cake to describe long chain hydrocarbons. UndeRGRound’s notation is posh. For clever clogs. ;)

I like mine hot, laced with C8H10N4O2, and a thick layer of C55H98O6 floating on top. Mmmm….

  70. LOL, Almost bedtime for Tawny ;)
