In the spirit of the Human Revolution and the current Massive Global Awakening, I thought we could mark this upcoming election day on November the 6th this year, a day that is sadly no longer important, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.

How did this happen? Who’s to blame? Well certainly there are those who are more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable. But again, truth be told…if you’re looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

I have to disagree with Chris Duane on this one. If I understood him correctly he was calling for non-participation in this years Presidential election. So many of our forebearers fought and died to preserve our right to vote. To not exercise that fundamental right and responsibility of citizenship is wrong and dishonoring to their memory. There are other options than Obama/Romney and other issues on the ballot to be decided. Sure, buy silver. But, go vote.

I’m a combat veteran – Shkin, Afghanistan in 2004-2005. Your friends were probably sent to battles by politicians who didn’t care about them at all, and it definitely wasn’t so that you could vote. However you could argue that they died to make sure that you are completely free to believe that its more important to vote than to get your hands dirty and enact some real change.

This is how I see it: Chris is clearly sceptical if anything good will come out of the formal voting process (although that might only be an assumption on my part). I feel he is within his rights to ask people to vote with silver instead, I don’t think a telling and/or command should be construed from it. I mean how many folks are telling and/or encouraging others to go and vote in the formal voting process? I feel that same right and/or privilege should be extended to Chris. I can understand why Chris is sceptical, because it is that very same voting process that has brought us to the point in history where we are now. There are forces in play that make a joke out of the whole process, whether we want to believe it or not. This of course doesn’t take away from the fact that many go and vote with an honest desire to see things change for the better.
Needless to say, my vote here is for freedom of speech and for true liberty, where differences of opinion are allowed in a terrain which has become normative to a great extent. I believe history will be the final judge of what was really accomplished in the formal voting process and the same applies to the ounce-based voting proposed by Chris. Let’s wait on history to make the final judgment and remind ourselves that chances are great that we won’t agree on everything, but that we’re here to advance and promote honest money (gold and silver) and to build unity on this platform. Let’s be patient like fishermen who haven’t hauled in any good fish for a while now, but who are ready to face the rough seas shoulder to shoulder. lol Now that might come over as corny, but it is my two cents.

I think voting in a fair system is a good thing, but our system is rigged and is not about giving you choices. I’m not exactly sitting on my hands either… its just that no candidates seem to want to represent my interests even a little bit. For example, I was at a Republican committee roundtable meeting where I asked the state GOP chairman “What can someone like me do to bring awareness to the issue that sales tax shouldn’t be charged on gold and silver legal tender coins from the US Mint?” and I was blown off and told “that is a special lobbying issue” (translation: Go away unless you have a check for me). At subsequent meetings I asked Republican Senate and Congressional candidates about if they would pledge to not vote for any more bailouts even if it means the failure of the Federal Reserve and none of them will make that pledge. These are all greedy power hungry people who only want to slurp from the trough filled by the same folks that manipulate silver and deny us honest money and an honest future.
BTW – I think is a common generational disagreement – I’ve had this conversation before and it is my belief that people who have lived most of their adult lives in a post 9/11 world tend to view the legitimacy of the government and the political system a little bit differently. We shouldn’t fight about this, its just a point on which we can disagree amicably.

Long time lurker, and felt compelled to respond… Obviously there’s a few people here who are in denial about what the U.S. Gov’t represents. There may have been at one point, a time when voting for a leader was a legitimate and honorable process, but no more. If one can wrap their head around the corruption and conspiracy of America’s financial system, then one should be able to make the logical leap to understand that the political system (that includes voting) is controlled by the same corrupt forces. It seems to me, that if you can cheer on websites like SGT report, Silver Doctors, or TF Metals Report and the underlying message they convey, but still rabidly endorse the U.S. political system, then you are practicing a form of hipocrisy that borders on insanity. Do you not get it? It’s all in, or nothing. I invest in silver and gold and food and ammo because there is nothing about the present world economical system that is worth trusting, no matter the perceived sacrifices that enabled our ability to vote, et al. And believing in a fantasy that a “vote” will change something, in the context of this corrupt system just for the sake of being able to vote; well you can have your vote and mine too.
